【摘要】:Amajorconcernforprisonadministrativeofficialsissecuritybarriersusedindetention/correctionalfacilities.Thesetestmethodsaredesignedtoaidinidentifyinglevelsofphysicalsecurityforswingingdetentionhollowmetaldoorassemblies.Thesetestmethodsarenotintendedtoprovideameasureofresistanceforadoorassemblysubjectedtoattackbycorrosiveagents,byhigh-poweredrifles,explosives,sawing,orothersuchmethods.Thesetestmethodsareintendedtoevaluatetheresistanceofadoorassemblytoviolentattacksusingbatteringdevices,suchasbenches,bunks,ortables;byhandgunsuptoandincluding.44magnum;bypryingdevices;bydevicesusedtodeformthedoorandrenderitinoperable;andbyfiresstartedbyusingmattresses,books,andotherflammablematerials.Theprimarypurposeorresultofthesetestmethodsistoapproximatethelevelsofabusetowhichdoorassembliesmaybesubjectedinthefield.Thedesiredresultofitsuseistohelpprovideinsuranceofprotectiontothepublic,tofacilityadministrativepersonnel,andtotheinmatesthemselves.Itisrecommendedthatdetention/correctionalfacilityadministrationprovideadequatetraining,supervision,andpreventativemaintenanceprogramstoenabledoorassembliestofunctionasintendedthroughouttheexpectedservicelife.1.1Thesetestmethodscoverrequirementsformechanicaltests,simulatedservicetest,andtestingequipmentfordeterminingtheperformancecharacteristicsofswingingdetentionhollowmetaldoorassembliesofvariousstylesandtypesofconstructionforuseinwallopeningsdesignedtoincarcerateinmatesindetention/correctionalinstitutions.1.2Thesetestmethodstestthecapabilityofaswingingdoorassemblytoprevent,delay,andfrustrateescape,tolimitorcontrolaccesstounauthorizedorsecureareas,andtoresistcommontypesofvandalism.1.3Thesetestmethodsapplyprimarilytodetentiondoorassembliestoandfromsecureareasgenerallyfoundinsidedetention/correctionalfacilities,suchas:dayrooms,controlrooms,cells,andsallyports.1.4Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.1.5Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
