【摘要】:Itisimportanttoknowtheenergyspectrumoftheparticularneutronsourceemployedinradiation-hardnesstestingofelectronicdevicesinordertorelateradiationeffectswithdeviceperformancedegradation.Thisguidedescribesthefactorswhichmustbeconsideredwhenthespectrumadjustmentmethodologyischosenandimplemented.Althoughtheselectionofsensors(foils)andthedeterminationofresponses(activities)isdiscussedinGuideE720,theexperimentshouldnotbedivorcedfromtheanalysis.Infact,itisadvantageousfortheanalystconductingthespectrumdeterminationtobecloselyinvolvedwiththedesignoftheexperimenttoensurethatthedataobtainedwillprovidethemostaccuratespectrumpossible.Thesedataincludethefollowing:(1)measuredresponsessuchastheactivitiesoffoilsexposedintheenvironmentandtheiruncertainties,(2)responsefunctionssuchasreactioncrosssectionsalongwithappropriatecorrelationsanduncertainties,(3)thegeometryandmaterialsinthetestenvironment,and(4)atrialfunctionorpriorspectrumanditsuncertaintiesobtainedfromatransportcalculationorfrompreviousexperience.1.1Thisguidecoversproceduresfordeterminingtheenergy-differentialfluencespectraofneutronsusedinradiation-hardnesstestingofelectronicsemiconductordevices.Thetypesofneutronsourcesspecificallycoveredbythisguidearefissionordegradedenergyfissionsourcesusedineitherasteady-stateorpulsemode.1.2Thisguideprovidesguidanceandcriteriathatcanbeappliedduringtheprocessofchoosingthespectrumadjustmentmethodologythatisbestsuitedtotheavailabledataandrelevantfortheenvironmentbeinginvestigated.1.3ThisguideistobeusedinconjunctionwithGuideE720tocharacterizeneutronspectraandisusedinconjunctionwithPracticeE722tocharacterizedamage-relatedparametersnormallyassociatedwithradiation-hardnesstestingofelectronic-semiconductordevices.Note1AlthoughGuideE720onlydiscussesactivationfoilsensors,anyenergy-dependentneutron-respondingsensorforwhicharesponsefunctionisknownmaybeused().Note2Forterminologyusedinthisguide,seeTerminologyE170.1.4ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
